KusionStack is an open platform-engineering toolchain, born at Ant Group and now a CNCF sandbox project, that helps teams build their own internal developer platform on top of Kubernetes and the clouds. Its heart is Kusion, an intent-driven orchestrator: developers describe what their application needs in a single specification, platform engineers encode the organisation's standards as reusable modules and workspaces, and Kusion generates and applies the underlying resources across Kubernetes, Terraform, or on-prem infrastructure. Alongside it sits Karpor, which brings search, insight, and AI to the clusters those applications land on. This book walks the whole arc. It opens with the platform-engineering problem KusionStack exists to solve, then grounds you in KCL, the configuration language underneath. From there it builds the operating model of projects, stacks, and workspaces, shows how AppConfiguration captures intent and how Kusion Modules turn that intent into real resources, follows the generate-preview-apply workflow and the state it manages, tours Karpor's visibility layer, and closes with how the pieces fit together in practice.
