KusionStack: Intent-Driven Platform Engineering

KusionStack is an open platform-engineering toolchain, born at Ant Group and now a CNCF sandbox project, for building internal developer platforms on Kubernetes and the clouds. Its heart is Kusion, an intent-driven orchestrator: developers describe what their app needs in a single specification, platform engineers encode standards as reusable modules and workspaces, and Kusion generates and applies the underlying resources across Kubernetes, Terraform, or on-prem. Alongside sits Karpor, bringing search, insight, and AI to clusters. This book covers the platform-engineering problem, the KCL language underneath, the project-stack-workspace model, AppConfiguration and modules, the generate-preview-apply workflow with state, Karpor's visibility layer, and how it all fits in practice.
