Meshery is a CNCF project that turns the sprawling, fragmented world of cloud-native operations into something you can see, design, and reason about. Running services across many Kubernetes clusters, several clouds, and a stack of CNCF projects usually means juggling dozens of YAML files, half-remembered kubectl commands, and incomplete mental models of what is actually deployed where. Meshery answers this with a visual designer for infrastructure, a registry of Models, Components, and Relationships that captures how cloud-native building blocks fit together, and MeshSync — a real-time discovery engine that keeps Meshery continuously in step with the live state of your clusters. This book walks through the project from the ground up: what Meshery is and the problem it solves, its server-broker-operator architecture, the registry that gives it semantic understanding, the design canvas and GitOps workflows, MeshSync discovery, the gRPC adapters and WASM filter management for service meshes, performance characterization with the Service Mesh Performance specification, the provider model that powers collaboration and RBAC, and finally how to put it all to work in practice.
