SpinKube: WebAssembly Workloads on Kubernetes

SpinKube is a CNCF sandbox project that lets you run Spin WebAssembly applications on Kubernetes as naturally as containers. Instead of shipping a whole OS image, you compile your app to a small .wasm module that starts in milliseconds, sandboxes itself by default, and packs densely onto a node. SpinKube makes those modules behave like ordinary workloads through four parts: a containerd-shim-spin built on runwasi, a Spin Operator that reconciles the SpinApp and SpinAppExecutor CRDs, a runtime-class-manager that installs the shim, and a spin kube CLI plugin. This book walks from why Wasm, through Spin and the component model, the shim and RuntimeClass, the operator and its CRDs, packaging and deployment, scaling and runtime config, to operating SpinKube in production.
